We know the focus for everyone the past two months has been the coronavirus pandemic. And now, our attention is turning to efforts to reopen businesses in accordance with state and local guidelines. While all of this is happening, there are still mandates set by New York state that we are required to adhere to, including setting premium rates for next year.
On May 18, an application was submitted requesting 2021 premium rate changes in accordance with New York state prior approval law. This rate application applies to Community Rated Individual and Small Group products.
The following products are included in this 2021 rate filing:
- Direct Pay Metal Plans and Base (catastrophic)
- Bassett Preferred
- CNY Preferred
- Healthy NY EPO
- SimplyBlue Plus
- Excellus BCBS HMO
Small Group Rate Notifications
Initial notification letters will be mailed to community-rated employer groups and direct pay members enrolled in the products listed above. The letter will include our requested rate percentage changes.
