Effective January 1, 2021, dental members will have the option to choose how they want to provide payment to out-of-network dental providers. They can choose to assign payment directly to their dentist or for payment to go directly to the member. In order to assign payment to their dental provider, the member must sign line 37 of the claim form (see below). If line 37 is not signed, payment will be made to the member.
We are also contacting out-of-network dental providers to make them aware of this option and to instruct their offices on how to assign benefits. Contact your broker or account representative with questions.
